The goal of Strategic Facilitation is to engage all participants in dialog, decision and action.  Though many of us are capable of facilitating a meeting, it is very difficult to do so effectively and be a participant.  Critical and vital topics deserve the full participation of the team.  "Outside" facilitators enable this to happen.

Strategy maps break a strategy into manageable pieces (objectives) and show the cause and effect relationships.   Each element needs a measure or metric to indicate is progress being made (or not) to achieving that objective.  The Balanced Scorecard is an excellent tool for this process.  A hands-on approach by the leadership team to strategy mapping is employed building consensus and mobilizing for implementation.  Too often this is "an exercise" completed by a strategic planning unit and too often is left to collect dust on the shelf.

Initiatives are the activities that result in new products or services, process improvements, customer experience, etc.  Prioritizing the initiatives is the easy part.  Sourcing for success and stopping the non-priorities is the challenge.  This service offering typically includes periodic check ins to ensure efforts are on track and/or corrective actions are being made.
